Operational discipline,
from sea to building.
My career began aboard nuclear-powered U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, where equipment failure isn't a budget line; it's a mission risk. That mindset never left me. For over two decades, I've applied the same rigor to facilities operations: treating every building as a system that must perform, and every team member as someone whose accountability shapes outcomes.
I specialize in the intersection of operational reliability and leadership — building the processes, people, and culture that make complex facilities run without drama. My Georgetown education in Emergency & Disaster Management sharpened my understanding of risk, resilience, and continuity planning.
I'm currently seeking senior facilities operations or mission-critical infrastructure leadership roles in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Experience
- Act as a trusted 'Source of Truth' for federal and commercial clients, advising on infrastructure governance and maintenance effectiveness for portfolios up to $1B.
- Member of a team of senior nuclear industry professionals who perform independent assessments and recommend program improvements associated with nuclear facilities and operations, high-hazard operations, nuclear systems maintenance, engineering, and Integrated Facilities and Safety Management (IFM/ISM). Provide direct support at various organizations including U.S. Department of Energy sites, U.S. National Laboratories, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, and large private sector companies (the Boeing Company, Duke Energy, Johnson Controls) in the areas of project management, safety performance, quality performance, work planning and control processes, conduct of operations, performance assurance, radiological controls, readiness assessments, event investigations, and management improvement initiatives.
- Provide executive project oversight and mentorship, strengthening cost control, risk management, and performance accountability. Develop technical facilities standards and KPI frameworks to ensure consistency across multi-site nuclear and high-hazard operations for clients handling unprecedented first-of-its-kind work, contributing to $60M+ in cost avoidance.
- Lead enterprise safety and compliance program overhauls across multi-site operations.
- Directed maintenance and engineering operations for a large-scale wine production campus and 52-site portfolio, including utilities, 40k case per day production lines, corporate offices, vineyard acreage, and visitor-serving facilities. Transformed the site material condition and workforce culture in one year with clear organization and accountability.
- Managed daily operations across multiple building types with stringent uptime and safety expectations
- Implemented safety programs and compliance frameworks across all managed facilities
- Directed preventive and corrective maintenance programs, improving asset reliability and reducing unplanned work orders
- Delivered capital infrastructure projects on schedule without disrupting occupied operations
- Built and managed a high-quality vendor bench for specialized maintenance of solar generation, battery storage, and wastewater infrastructure, including selecting, onboarding, and partnering with specialized service providers to support maintenance, emergency response, and ongoing operational excellence.
- Awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, multiple Commendation Medals, Achievement Medals, and Unit Awards
- Led multiple diverse teams across a department of 450 personnel, responsible for operating and maintaining nuclear propulsion and shipboard systems in high-consequence environments
- Cultivated zero-defect operating culture through procedural discipline, training, and individual accountability
- Managed personnel, qualifications, inspections, and operational readiness across multi-department organizations

From Tokens to Burgers
I just read the short essay “From Tokens to Burgers: A Water Footprint.” https://lnkd.in/ehYyuXF6 and it raises an uncomfortable question: why are we selectively outraged about water use?
Serious Business in the AI adoption timeline
In a sobering essay, Dario Amodei from Anthropic describes the absolutely monumental task the human race faces now and in the coming years in surviving the adoption of AI into our reality.
